Bunratty Castle - The castle stands peacefully in delightful grounds, the houses and cottages at Bunratty Folk Park spread out at the foot of its massive walls, much in the way that cottages and crofts of old would have clustered around its base. Bunratty Folk Park offers a glimpse of an entirely different era. The buildings and atmosphere date from around the year 1900, when the influence of the towns was just begining to percolate through to rural communities.

King Johns Castle - The Castle is the focal point from which to tell a story of the city and the native Irish Celts who have populated it from its beginnings, augmented by English, Huguenots and Palatines at diverse times in history. Explore the courtyard for its many artefacts of battles and sieges and meet with the costumed animators who illustrate life in 13th century Limerick.

There is a large number of high quality 18 and 9 hole golf courses in or near Shannon.

Adare Manor Hotel and Glof Club - Set on the 840 acre estate of Adare Manor. The course has three lakes, including a 14 acre lake anchoring the front nine. A new course destined to become a household name.

Bunratty Village Mills - The Bunratty Village Mills opened in April 1998, is a total shopping experience.
